{"id":1070,"date":"2023-07-06T17:59:26","date_gmt":"2023-07-06T22:59:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/blog-new\/?p=1070"},"modified":"2023-07-04T19:19:43","modified_gmt":"2023-07-05T00:19:43","slug":"small-tabletops-for-folding-stools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/blog-new\/small-tabletops-for-folding-stools\/","title":{"rendered":"Small Tabletops for Folding Stools"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, I&#8217;ve made a bunch of these <a href=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/blog-new\/shogi-folding-stool\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"414\">Shogi folding stool<\/a>s, and I thought it would be handy if I used up some surplus lumber to make a small tabletop that would turn a stool into a table.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/proj\/images\/tabletop-stools.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/proj\/images\/tabletop-stools.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I didn&#8217;t have a real plan, so I just cut two pieces of 1-by-8 and edge glued them together to make a square, then I nailed some miter-cut 2-by-4 trimmings around the edge to make it into a tray. A little polyurethane and it was ready to go. It was fine, but I realized (too late) that if I&#8217;d made it rectangular instead of square, then the rim pieces would slide down over the ends of the stool pieces and it would never slide off.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/proj\/images\/tabletop-square.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/proj\/images\/tabletop-square.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It took me some time to get around to executing my brand new plan and make a second tabletop, but I finally declared this project done when the second coat of polyurethane was dry.
