It was my pleasure to do this for him. I was able eventually to find some dark blue silk yarn in sufficient quantity to make this 9.5\u00a0foot long 7\/16\u00a0inch wide 9-strand <em>shigeuchi<\/em> braid.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/proj\/images\/braid-sankaku-9-shigeuchi-20260504.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/proj\/images\/braid-sankaku-9-shigeuchi-20260504.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:512px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">9-Shigeuchi Sageo in Silk<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I started with about 13.5 feet of material, 10 ends of silk yarn per strand, and worked this braid on my <em><a href=\"https:\/\/ee0r.com\/blog-new\/unpopular-braiding-equipment\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1186\">sankakudai<\/a><\/em>. Quite a bit of uptake, really. The amount of material gave me a nice heavy braid, and the silk makes it soft and flexible for its tightness. The use of yarn makes the braid a little fuzzier than I would prefer, but it&#8217;s mostly clean and only a little fuzzy.
