"Signatures" are the distinctive arrangements of pieces used by most serious Icehouse players on their stash pads. Some players do not consider themselves "ready to play" until the pieces on their stash pad are in just the right personal arrangement.
No signature has been proven to affect game play, but they definitely add to the beauty of the game, and allow each player to display a little bit of their own personal style.
Here are a number of Icehouse signatures that I have culled from various places, including back issues of the old Icehouse Games publication, "Hypothermia". If you have one you'd like me to add to the Signatorium, please send me email with either a very good text description, and/or a graphical attachment less than 10 kilobytes in size.
Select (click on) any of the thumbnails below to see a larger diagram and digital photograph of the signature. In some cases, the photograph displays the concept more clearly; in others, less clearly.
All diagrams and photos are intended to show what that signature looks like from the point of view of the player using it. That is, the bottom of each picture is "towards the player", not "towards the field of play".
Some signatures have been modified from their original format. They have been modified to fit the standard size stash pad.
All signatures in the signatorium are the property of their designers. This collection is Copyright © 1999 - 2002 Elliott C. Evans and all rights are reserved.
